Turno da Noite em estreia com terror nacional

Curtas com a participação de atores consagrados como José Raposo ou Carla Chambel passam na sessão da meia-noite

O dia 11 de novembro traz ao Festival Caminhos do Cinema Português a estreia do Turno da Noite, uma secção com início às 23h59 na Casa do Cinema de Coimbra e que, no primeiro dia, exibe algumas produções de terror feitas em Portugal.

“Hauschen – A Herança”, de Paulo A. M. Oliveira (com José Raposo no elenco), “A Máscara dos Porcos”, de Tiago Pimentel, “Porque Odeias o teu Irmão?”, de Inês Marques e Pedro Martins (que conta com os desempenhos de Carla Chambel e Carmen Santos), “Os Abismos da Alma”, de Guilherme Daniel, “Kafka”, de Tiago Iuri, “Send me their names”, de Marcelo Gafanha, e “Meu Castelo, Minha Casa”, de José Mira, são as películas portuguesas a estrear este espaço. Também em exibição nesta secção está “Survivers”, uma produção franco-espanhola.

Já antes, na secção Outros Olhares, será exibido o documentário “José Augusto França – Liberdade Cor de Homem”. Um trabalho que procura dar a conhecer melhor uma das personalidades mais importantes da História da Arte em Portugal, a principal do século XX. O realizador Ricardo Clara Couto e os produtores Luís Hipólito e Mónica Reis de Castro estarão presentes na Casa do Cinema.

Curso de Cinema

Para além do Festival, que ocorre entre 6 e 20 de Novembro, na Casa do Cinema de Coimbra e no TAGV, os Caminhos do Cinema Português em parceria com a Universidade Aberta (UAb), desde 2011 promovem o curso Cinemalogia, voltado para o estudo das fases necessárias à conceção de um filme.

(new) Call for entries

Caminhos do Cinema Português is preparing its 26th edition, seeking to bring together the best contemporary national cinematography. In an atypical year, we try to look at both the rights of the spectators and the opportunities and contingencies that plague producers and creators.

Looking at the current premises in which we live due the Covid19 pandemic, the organization announces that in the current edition point 4.3 of the festival regulation will be ignored, being admitted all films completed since 31 July 2019, even if they were shown on television or published, by will of the author or producer, on websites, streaming services (eg: Netflix, NOS Play, Meo VideoClub), or edited on DVD or BluRay. In line with those the new conditions for admission, the call for entries deadline is extended to 15 September 2020.

Call for Movies is open

Registrations are now open for the 26th Edition of the Caminhos do Cinema Português Festival. Between the 1st of January and the 31st of July, the works for the Caminhos Selection, Essays Selection and Other Looks may be submitted via FilmFreeway. Until May 31, all national film registrations will be free.

In its 26th edition, the festival is committed to recognizing the importance of animation cinema as an important feature of the quality of national cinematography. This bet is projected by the introduction of the Best Animation Essay Award. Check all the details in the festival regulations.

Believe us, our cinema is for everyone

Do you like cinema? If your answer is yes, we have good news. Caminhos Film Festival it is the only event dedicated to contemporary Portuguese cinematography and it takes place in Coimbra’s heart since 1988. It is on until November 30th, with the purpose of promoting Portuguese cinema in its different paths, with all sorts of styles, genres and authors, represented by more than 190 films.

call for entries until 31st july

Call for entries is now open for the 25th Edition of Caminhos Film Festival. Between April 1st and July 31st movies may be submitted through FilmFreeway for two competitive selections  Caminhos and Essays and other non-competitive sections. Early Birds entries are only opened until 31st of May.

Last Call for Movies at 24th edition

Call for Movies of the 24th edition of Caminhos Film Fest, which opened on 1st of may and will officially close tomorrow, 31st of July 2018.

Dedicated mainly to Portuguese productions that took place after last edition’s deadline. The organization invites all the producers, directors and Portuguese creators to apply for the competitive selections that differ based on the type of the film, but they own the same objective, promotion of Portuguese cinema.
