Caminhos do Cinema Português is preparing its 26th edition, seeking to bring together the best contemporary national cinematography. In an atypical year, we try to look at both the rights of the spectators and the opportunities and contingencies that plague producers and creators.
Looking at the current premises in which we live due the Covid19 pandemic, the organization announces that in the current edition point 4.3 of the festival regulation will be ignored, being admitted all films completed since 31 July 2019, even if they were shown on television or published, by will of the author or producer, on websites, streaming services (eg: Netflix, NOS Play, Meo VideoClub), or edited on DVD or BluRay. In line with those the new conditions for admission, the call for entries deadline is extended to 15 September 2020.
Registrations are now open for the 26th Edition of the Caminhos do Cinema Português Festival. Between the 1st of January and the 31st of July, the works for the Caminhos Selection, Essays Selection and Other Looks may be submitted via FilmFreeway. Until May 31, all national film registrations will be free.
In its 26th edition, the festival is committed to recognizing the importance of animation cinema as an important feature of the quality of national cinematography. This bet is projected by the introduction of the Best Animation Essay Award. Check all the details in the festival regulations.

Caminhos Film Festival it is the only event dedicated to contemporary Portuguese cinematography and it takes place in Coimbra’s heart since 1988. Call for entries is now open for the 25th Edition of Caminhos Film Festival. Between April 1st and July 31st movies may be submitted through FilmFreeway for two competitive selections Caminhos and Essays and other non-competitive sections. Early Birds entries are only opened until 31st of May.
Call for Movies of the 24th edition of Caminhos Film Fest, which opened on 1st of may and will officially close tomorrow, 31st of July 2018.
Dedicated mainly to Portuguese productions that took place after last edition’s deadline. The organization invites all the producers, directors and Portuguese creators to apply for the competitive selections that differ based on the type of the film, but they own the same objective, promotion of Portuguese cinema.
