In 1934, the ‘New State’ took to the world stage with the Portuguese Colonial Exhibition. There, the Portuguese Empire displayed the ultimate symbol of its virility in Rosinha, a native of what was then Portuguese Guinea. They are in suspension, in an intermediate state in which the reality of the world around them does not sustain itself. Between Light and Nowhere comes from the desire to embrace the transcendental potential of the everyday. It follows a group of young queer people in their search for a safe space. Loneliness, ecstasy and the cosmos are interwoven, carrying us beyond the mundane surface of reality.
