While trying to make a film that makes sense of home movies from her home country, Portugal, a filmmaker in the beginning of her career talks with other filmmakers in the hopes of understanding what it takes to make cinema out of archival images. What results is a visual exploration of her homeland through its home cinema, and the thoughts of an artist who is trying to make sense of her own work.

Morreu em Berlim em 1978 aos 23 anos, deixando para trás uma mão-cheia de cartas de amor, a última das quais é de Maria, que nunca recebeu uma resposta e acreditou que ele estava vivo durante todo este tempo. Depois de encontrar esta e outras cartas, Gabriele Biasi, sobrinho de Onofrio, decide partir em busca de todos os remetentes, para reconstruir a figura do seu tio paterno. Com a intenção de dar voz ao silêncio criado pela sua família em torno desta perda, a busca de Gabriele por Onofrio nas memórias de quem o conheceu funde-se com a busca exaustiva por Maria: o seu último amor, que aparentemente desapareceu após a sua morte. Nesta dupla busca, dividida entre aqueles que querem lembrar e aqueles que decidiram não lembrar mais, o realizador questiona-se sobre a verdadeira razão de ser do próprio documentário.
Some chrysalises never manage to become butterflies and Onofrio is one of them. He died in Berlin in 1978 at the age of 23, leaving behind a handful of love letters, the last of which is from Maria, who never received a reply and has believed him alive for all this time. After finding this and other letters, Gabriele Biasi, Onofrio’s nephew, decides to leave in search of all the senders, to reconstruct the figure of his paternal uncle. With the intention of giving a voice to the silence created by his family around this loss, Gabriele’s search of Onofrio within the memories of those who knew him merges with the exhausting search for Maria: his last love, who apparently disappeared after his death. In this twofold search, divided between those who want to remember and those who have decided not to anymore, the director questions himself about the actual raison d’être of the documentary itself.

“O Búzio” é uma adaptação do conto “Homero” de Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, que narra uma breve memória de infância da autora e tem como personagem central um velho homem solitário e louco que aparecia a pedir esmola nas tardes de verão, numa vila junto à praia. Búzio é um ser livre, que vive afastado do mundo dos homens e em comunhão com a natureza. A animação explora a magia contida nas palavras desse homem, vistas pelo olhar de uma criança.
“O Búzio” is an adaptation of the short story “Homer” by Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, which narrates a brief childhood memory of the author and has as its central character a wandering, crazed old man who appeared to beg for alms on summer afternoons, in a village by the beach. Búzio is a free being, who lives away from the world of men and in communion with nature, whose rituals and speeches no one understands. The animation explores the magic contained in the words of this man, seen through the eyes of a child.

A curta-metragem The Poor Poet foi inspirada na pintura homónima de Carl Spitzweg. Muitos críticos consideraram que a pintura satirizou a discrepância entre a afirmação do poeta e a realidade; por um contraste marcante, esta curta-metragem oferece uma perspetiva completamente diferente. A incapacidade do velho poeta de se concentrar na escrita decorre da sua irritação com a trivialidade da vida quotidiana e entrega-se apenas ao ritmo da poesia. No entanto, a vida inspira a arte. Somente quando ele finalmente percebe que grandes obras também podem ser concebidas através das dificuldades da vida, ele pode transformar a sua arte e forma de vida em uma fonte inesgotável do senso interno de ordem.
The short film The Poor Poet was inspired by Carl Spitzweg’s painting of the namesake. Many critics considered the painting satirized the discrepancy between the poet’s claim and reality; by striking contrast, this short film offers a thoroughly different perspective. The old poet’s inability to concentrate on writing stems from his irritation with the triviality of everyday life and solely indulges himself in the rhythm of poetry. However, life inspires art. Only when he finally realizes that great works can also be conceived through the hardship in life, could he turn his art and life form into an inexhaustible wellspring of the inner sense of order.

In a digital age where everything is fast and efficient, human beings find themselves unable to develop meaningful relationships. Lia, a nonconformist young woman in this formatted society, struggles with the loss of her father and consequent loneliness.
After receiving an offer that promises to solve all her problems, Lia will have to make a choice: the comfort of the virtual world, in which she will have complete control over her life, or the coldness of the real world and the virtues of human experience.
