And it is because of those who offer her standards that are humanly impossible to achieve, that Mia is constantly dissatisfied with her own body and seeks perfection that does not exist. Standards imposed by a society stuck to old and unhealthy stereotypes, where the discrepancy between the real and the ideal weight leads to chronic and sometimes fatal suffering.

“Alaúde” segue a história de António, um rapaz de doze anos, filho de uma família de agricultores na vila de Sobrosa em Portugal. Certa manhã, António é surpreendido pelo som da música nas ruas após a chegada de uma banda musical, que anuncia o seu concerto pelas estradas da aldeia. Evento raro para um local tão calmo e pacato. Contrastado com a ideia de ver música ao vivo, António sente que precisa de ir ver este concerto. Porém, as suas responsabilidades para com a família levam a que ele tenha que ajudar o seu pai no dia do evento. Vítor, o seu pai, também parece interessado com a banda que chega à vila, porém este mantém-se focado no seu trabalho. Durante essa tarde, Vítor dá dinheiro ao seu filho para que este cumpra uma tarefa. Este recebe o dinheiro e apercebe-se de que tal é suficiente para o bilhete do concerto. Assim sendo, ele faz uma escolha e decide desobedecer aos seus pais ao comprar um bilhete para o evento. Porém as consequências desta escolha levam a que António prejudique não só a sua família, ao fugir do trabalho do seu pai, como também o guitarrista da banda. Isto porque, ao chegar cedo ao concerto, António vê-se sozinho no salão e acaba por se aproximar da guitarra à socapa. Isto leva a que a guitarra se parta e António tenha de fugir com a mesma.
As a Fado band arrives in the village of Sobrosa, António is captivated by the possibility of seeing live music for the first time. However, he must go and work for his father, Vitor, during the afternoon the concert takes place. After Vitor sends Antonio to the market on a chore, António decides to disobey him, using his money to buy the concert ticket and enters the Salon before anyone arrives. Curious about the instruments, he walks up the stage and plays the guitar, but ends up breaking it and runs away scared.
António realizes his mistake and is found by Vitor, who brings him back to the Salon to face the guitarist and apologize for his actions. Back home, António helps his father at work. There, Vitor recognises himself in his son, while seeing that António acknowledges his fault. At dusk, Vítor shares the sound of music as he cleans a dusty guitar, and plays a song to his son.
