Tiago pede boleia para Santarém na estrada durante horas, sem sucesso. João, ao vê-lo, decide parar e oferece levá-lo até Lisboa. Tiago aceita de bom grado. A viagem é de três horas e os dois rapazes não se conhecem. Podem odiar-se ou tornar-se melhores amigos; tornarem-se inseparáveis ou nunca mais se voltarem a ver. Eles não sabem. Mas por vezes, a viagem é o verdadeiro destino.
Tiago tries to hitchhike to Santarém on the road for hours, without any luck. When João sees him, he decides to stop and offers to take Tiago to Lisbon. Tiago accepts gladly. But the trip is three hours long and the two boys know nothing about the other. They could hate each other, or become bests friends; become inseparable or never see each other again. They don’t know. But sometimes, the journey really is the destination.

Isabela is preparing to sleep the night before a college entrance exam when an anxiety attack starts. Fred is a pharmacist working hard in a place where he’s unhappy. Juliana has insomnia because of work problems. They meet each other in the pharmacy where Fred works, reevaluating the way that each one deals with their own anxiety.

Even before we know ourselves, when we are little the only thing we want is to be loved. “When Too Late” is an observational fiction. It shows us the common state we are when in love and the determination when being after someone. An analysis on the old illusion that the prince charming will come and fill the emotional weaknesses we have in life.
