Depois que um acidente de carro a deixa presa na floresta, uma mulher revisita memórias assombrosas de suas tendências autodestrutivas nas unhas. Enquanto descasca a pele dos dedos, cada tira a leva mais fundo ao passado. Com cada camada removida, ela se aproxima cada vez mais da criança oculta dentro de si.
Synopsis (English)
After a flat tire leaves her stranded in the woods, a woman revisits haunting memories of her self-destructive tendencies. As she peels the skin from her fingers, each strip draws her deeper into the past. With every layer, she steps closer to the hidden child within herself.

NanTung Lin é uma diretora de animação, animadora e ilustradora. O seu trabalho centra-se frequentemente em emoções humanas complexas, traduzindo sentimentos em arte visual. Gosta de experimentar com diferentes materiais e técnicas, com uma paixão particular pela animação artesanal fotograma a fotograma.

NanTung Lin is an animation director, animator, and illustrator. Her work often focuses on complex human emotions, translating feelings into visual art. She enjoys experimenting with different materials and techniques, with a particular passion for handcrafted frame-by-frame animation.

The Peel é uma história autorreflexiva que revisita os comportamentos impulsivos de roer unhas e descascar peles. Através de uma abordagem experimental, as lutas ocultas por trás deste comportamento falam por si. Espero que este filme possa tocar suavemente a inquietação interior da audiência e partilhar a dor inexprimível dentro de nós.

The Peel is a self-reflective story that remembers the impulsive behaviors of biting nails and peeling skins. Within the experimental approach, the hidden struggles behind the behavior speaks for itself. I hope this film can gently touch the audience’s inner unease and share the speakable pain within us.
