Sinopse
Nos anos 60, Fernando, um jovem soldado português, é preso em Goa após a invasão das tropas indianas. Com a falta de correspondência por parte da família e namorada, começa a perder a ligação com ambos e o passado, ligando-se cada vez mais à gente indiana. Enquanto preso, estabelece uma rotina fazendo algo de que gosta – cortar cabelos e aparar as barbas dos oficiais indianos, com quem forma amizade. Quando recebe finalmente a notícia de que os portugueses vão voltar para casa, Fernando dúvida se quer realmente voltar.
Synopsis (English)
In the 1960s, Fernando, a young Portuguese soldier, is imprisoned in Goa after the invasion of Indian troops. With no correspondence from his family or girlfriend, he begins to lose his connection to both and to his past, becoming increasingly attached to the Indian people. While in captivity, he establishes a routine by doing something he enjoys – cutting hair and trimming the beards of Indian officers, with whom he forms friendships. When he finally receives the news that the Portuguese will return home, Fernando begins to doubt whether he truly wants to leave.

Thomás Fenn, nascido em Abrantes, Portugal, a 29 de julho de 2001, é um realizador, escritor e músico português. A sua paixão pelo cinema começou aos cinco anos, aprofundando-se posteriormente com o filme de terror “O Anel”, aos dez, e com as obras e o universo do autor J. R. R. Tolkien, aos treze. Depois de terminar o ensino secundário, trabalhou numa fábrica para pagar a licenciatura em Cinema e Media Arts na Universidade Lusófona, em Lisboa. Embora já tenha trabalhado em alguns projetos na direção, a sua estreia como realizador veio com a curta-metragem de terror “Bed Time”, seguida de um videoclip de metal, “Profane”, para a banda portuguesa Klatter, um anúncio de serviço público sobre os perigos das baterias de lítio para as crianças e, mais recentemente, a sua curta-metragem de formatura “Soldado de Goa”, baseada numa história verídica.

Thomás Fenn, born in Abrantes, Portugal, on July 29, 2001, is a Portuguese director, writer, and musician. His passion for cinema began at the age of five, later deepening with the horror film “The Ring” at ten, and with the works and universe of author J. R. R. Tolkien at thirteen. After finishing high school, he worked in a factory to afford his degree in Cinema and Media Arts at Universidade Lusófona in Lisbon. Although he had previously worked on some projects in the directing department, his directorial debut came with the horror short film “Bed Time”, followed by a metal music video, “Profane”, for the Portuguese band Klatter, a public service announcement about the dangers of lithium batteries for children, and more recently, his graduation short film “Soldier of Goa”, based on a true story.
