Biografia – Realizador

Antonio La Camera (1990), depois de se formar com louvor em Cinema e Artes Visuais pela Universidade de Roma Tre, frequentou cursos de direção e roteiro na escola de cinema Sentieri Selvaggi, sendo posteriormente admitido no Curso de Alta Especialização em Direção Cinematográfica Fare Cinema, dirigido por Marco Bellocchio e ministrado por Manetti Bros. Em 2022 é admitido no exclusivo CreatorsLab, onde filma o curta-metragem ítalo-espanhol “Las Memorias Perdidas de los Árboles” na floresta amazônica peruana sob a supervisão do lendário diretor Apichatpong Weerasethakul, autor vencedor da Palma de Ouro no Festival de Cinema de Cannes. O curta-metragem tem estreia mundial na década de 80. Festival Internacional de Cinema de Veneza (2023) como parte do 38º. Semana Internacional da Crítica, onde ganha o Prêmio de Melhor Curta-Metragem. Posteriormente, o curta-metragem é apresentado em prestigiados festivais de qualificação para Oscar, EFA e Goya, como o 63º Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias – FICCI, o 47º Festival Internacional de Curtas-Metragens Drama, o 22º Festival Internacional de Cinema de Tirana, o 29º Festival Internacional de Cinema de Vilnius Kino Pavasaris, o 35º. Festival Internacional de Curtas de São Paulo – Curta Kinoforum e foi pré-selecionado para o Prêmio Goya 2025. Seu projeto de longa-metragem “Demons & Dust” é selecionado para o workshop de desenvolvimento InProgress 2024 da Milan Film Network, onde é desenvolvido sob a orientação de Michelangelo Frammartino, diretor e vencedor do Prêmio do Júri no Festival de Cinema de Veneza 2021. Em 2025, é selecionado para a Locarno Spring Academy, onde roda o curta-metragem “Le Mur du Son” sob a orientação de Caroline Poggi e Jonathan Vinel (diretores vencedores no Berlin Film Festival), que terá sua estreia mundial no 78. Festival de Cinema de Locarno. Atualmente está trabalhando na pós-produção de seu novo curta-metragem “Primo Sangue” e colaborando na redação do longa-metragem de Andrea Benjamin Manenti “I Have to Fuck Before the World Ends”.

Biography – Director (English)

Antonio La Camera (1990), after graduating with honors in Cinema and Visual Arts from the University of Roma Tre, attended directing and screenwriting courses at the Sentieri Selvaggi film school, and then was admitted to the High Specialization Course in Cinema Direction Fare Cinema, directed by Marco Bellocchio and held by Manetti Bros. His short films are screened in more than 150 national and international festivals and win more than 40 awards worldwide. In 2022 he is admitted to the exclusive CreatorsLab, where he shoots the Italian-Spanish short film “Las Memorias Perdidas de los Árboles” in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest under the supervision of legendary director Apichatpong Weerasethakul, the Palme d’Or-winning author at the Cannes Film Festival. The short film has its world premiere at the 80th. Venice International Film Festival (2023) as part of the 38th. International Critics’ Week, where it wins the Best Short Film Award. Later, the short film is presented in prestigious Oscar, EFA and Goya qualifying festivals, such as the 63rd Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias – FICCI, the 47th International Short Film Festival Drama, the 22nd Tirana International Film Festival, the 29th Vilnius International Film Festival Kino Pavasaris, the 35th. São Paulo International Short Film Festival – Curta Kinoforum and was preselected for the 2025 Goya Awards.
