Biografia – Realizador

Diego Bragà é uma artista luso-brasileira multidisciplinar (cineasta, compositora e escritora) que se identifica como não-binária transfeminina. Nascida em Belo Horizonte (Brasil) e a viver em Lisboa desde 2018. Começou a sua carreira profissional no teatro ainda adolescente. Em 2021, através de um filme autobiográfico, recebeu a bolsa para jovens criadores do Sundance Film Festival e o seu filme “Think About The Beautiful Future Ahead” está atualmente nos Op-Docs do The New York Times. Concluiu recentemente o “Curso Avançado de Cinema” organizado em parceria entre a Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian e a Universidade Católica do Porto. Em 2020, completou o mestrado em “Teorias da Arte” na Faculdade de Belas Artes de Lisboa, realizando oito curtas-metragens experimentais. Como cantora e compositora, lançou dois EPs e álbuns visuais: “SUPERPUTA SPIRITUAL” e “Geography of love”. Como escritora e encenadora, encenou um total de cinco peças.

Diego Bragà is a Luso-Brazilian multidisciplinary artist (filmmaker, composer and writer) who identifies as non-binary transfeminine. Born in Belo Horizonte (Brazil) and living in Lisbon since 2018. She started her professional career in theater since as a teenager. In 2021, through an autobiographical film, she received the fellowship for young creators from the Sundance Film Festival and her film “Think About The Beautiful Future Ahead” is currently in the Op-Docs of The New York Times. She recently finished the “Advanced Course in Cinema” organized in partnership between Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian and Universidade Católica do Porto. In 2020, she completed hes master’s degree in “Theories of Art” at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon, carrying out eight experimental short films. As singer and composer she launched two EPs and visual-albuns: “SUPERPUTA SPIRITUAL” and “Geography of love”. As writer and director she staged a total of five plays “HIT ME! (Popwitch)” (BR); “In Praise of Shame” (BR); “Shakespeare: Books to Survive” (BR); “Salomé” (BR/PT) and “Geografia do Amor” (PT). Diego got a total of five awards having received the Culture award from the Brazilian Ministry of Culture (during Dilma Rousseff’s government) as one of the young artists representatives of Brazilian contemporary art.
