Biografia – Realizador

Lucas H. Rossi dos Santos é um realizador negro brasileiro baseado no Rio de Janeiro. Juntas, as suas curtas-metragens “O Vestido de Myriam” (2017), “Feliz no Intervalo” (2020) e “Atordoado, Permaneço Alerta” (2020) receberam quase 300 seleções em todo o mundo. Em 2023 lançou a sua estreia como realizador de longa-metragem, “Othelo, O Grande”, sobre o ator Grande Otelo, que ganhou Melhor Documentário de Longa-Metragem no Festival Internacional de Cinema do Rio de Janeiro 2023. Produziu séries e longas-metragens como “Eu Sou Maria”, “Malês”, “Canastra Suja”, “Candelária”, “Vizinhos”, “A Morte Habita à Noite” (Roterdão 2020), entre outros, bem como curtas premiadas como “Após a Conversa, Despedem-se com um Abraço”, “Repulsa”, “Auto-falo” e “Last Sunday”.

Biography – Director (English)

Lucas H. Rossi dos Santos is a black brazilian director based in Rio de Janeiro. Together, his short films “The Dress of Myriam” (2017), “Happy in the Gap” (2020) and “Stunned, I Remain Alert” (2020) have received almost 300 selections around the world. In 2023 he released his feature debut as a director, “Othelo, The Great”, about the actor Grande Otelo, which won the Best Feature Documentary at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival 2023. He has produced series and feature films such as “Eu Sou Maria”, “Malês”, “Canastra Suja”, “Candelária”, “Vizinhos”, “Death Inhabits at Night” (Rotterdam 2020), among others, as well as award-winning shorts such as “After the Conversation, They Say Goodbye With an Embrace”, “Repulsa”, “Auto-falo” and “Last Sunday”. Henrique Amud was born in the Brazilian Amazon and directed the short films “Stunned, I Remain Alert” (2020) and “sanc_pc1317_03_01_a_1 – Versão 2” (2023). He produced the short film “Surroundings/Cats” (2021), by Sérgio Andrade, and wrote “Controle” (2023), by Ricardo Manjaro, as well being part of the writing and research team for the feature-length documentary “Othelo, The Great” (2023), by Lucas H. Rossi dos Santos. As Festival Agent, he works at Arapuá Filmes, where he has managed film festival strategy for nearly 100 independent Brazilian films.

“Atentado ao Monegasco” não é uma alegoria, é um fragmento do mundo sempre cíclico e confuso em que vivemos. Um mundo no qual, entre a loucura, a raiva e o distanciamento (emocional, político ou físico), as pessoas procuram um sorriso subtil e prazeres inconcebíveis para dar um pouco de sentido à vida.

Statement / Declaration (English)

“Attack on Monegasque” is not an allegory, it is a fragment of the ever-cyclical and confusing world we live in. A world in which, between madness, rage and detachment (emotional, political or physical), people look for a subtle smile and inconceivable pleasures to give life a little meaning.”
