Mensagem do Realizador Director Statement
YAY is Anne Isensee’s thesis project at the School of Visual Arts New York, where she studied a whole year remotely from home in Germany due to the pandemic. Aiming to connect with her fellow students and make the best out of the situation, she set up the film as a collaborative project — and therefor made collaboration and friendship the topic of the film. The story is her take on how to stick together to get literally out of the dark.

Biografia do Realizador Director Biography

Anne Isensee is a director of animated short films and music videos from Berlin. She first studied a little bit of Media Science and Sociology before she came to her senses and began studying Animation at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF, École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs Paris, and SVA New York, for which she received a Fulbright Scholarship (yeah she loves studying okay). She has interned at Balance Film GmbH Dresden, Hahn Film AG and Talking Animals in Berlin, where she worked on the Oscar-nominated animated documentary “Tracing Addai” (2018). Her animated short films have been shown at many international film festivals.
