Trespassados os medos, Elva abriu-nos as portas da sua casa e da sua oração, uma palavra secreta e profunda que carregava escondida dentro de si. Elva falou, olhando-nos nos olhos. Revelou-nos a sua dor e o seu rosto até que a sua voz conquistou as imagens e a nós com elas. Foi desse impulso que nasceu este filme, uma carta sussurrado do coração, um relato cheio de vida e resistência, dignidade e decência.

Fears having been pierced, Elva opened the doors of her home and her prayer to us, a secret and profound word that she carried hidden within herself. Elva spoke, looking into our eyes. She revealed her pain and her face to us until her voice conquered the images and us with them. It was from that impulse that this film was born, a letter whispered from the heart, a story full of life and resistance, dignity and decency.

Biografia do Realizador Director Biography

Um grupo de realizadores de diversos países (Portugal, Espanha e Bolívia) com variada e extensa experiência em Cinema. Entre eles já produziram várias longas e curtas metragens que marcaram presença em alguns dos mais relevantes festivais de Cinema no contexto global. O filme “Mulher como Árvore” acaba por ser um reflexo das realidades muito diferentes dos realizadores, das suas disparidades geracionais e artísticas. Elba uniu este grupo improvável e deu-lhes um objetivo comum: fazer-lhe um filme.

Group of directors from different countries with varied and extensive experience in cinema. Among them they have produced several features and short films that have been shown in some of the most relevant film festivals in the world. The film “Woman Like Tree” (“Mulher como árvore”) ends up being a reflection of the very different realities of the directors and of their generational and artistic disparities. Elva united this unlikely group and gave them a common goal: to make her a film.
