Um reservado poeta português e um exuberante ocultista inglês encontram-se na Lisboa de 1930. Quando o último desaparece, um detective inglês começa uma investigação minuciosa: terá sido realmente um suicídio, como noticiado? Ou um homicídio? Esta é a história real do breve encontro entre Fernando Pessoa, Aleister Crowley e Hanni Larissa Jaeger.

A shy Portuguese poet and an exuberant English occultist meet up in Lisbon in 1930. When the last one disappears, an English detective begins a thorough investigation: was it a suicide, as reported. Or a homicide? This is the real story of the brief meeting between Fernando Pessoa, Aleister Crowley, and Hanni Larissa Jaeger.

Only by fiction, we can enter Fernando Pessoa’s complex universe, a Portuguese poet from the XXth century. The worlds of Aleister Crowley and Hanni Larissa Jaeger abruptly enter the poet’s quiet world, dragging him to a world full of secrets and a police investigation, opening a new door in booth his life and his work. It’s quite known his side as an astrologer, medium, and mystic, that he uses to validate his heteronyms as “real”. This occultist side of Fernando Pessoa, allows the visit of the so called Beast 666: Aleister Crowley. In a film-noir kind of genre, his attraction for Hanni, his relation with Crowley, his pursuit for knowledge and, most of all, his choice of fiction over reality, is a trip that we wanted to explore focused on the detective and in Fernando Pessoa, with a backstage access to his creative and narrative processes.

Biografia do Realizador Director Biography
Luís debuted as a director with the short-film GOD WILL PROVIDE in 2015 and now, in 2020, he makes his second short-film MOUTH OF HELL, co-produced by Frame (his own production company) and Filmógrafo. In television, Luís has written and directed 4PLAY, a comedy tv-show for the Portuguese national broadcaster RTP2 in 2017. Besides his work in film and television, he has a really close relationship with theatre – which has always been a part of his life – allowing him to direct several films from theatre plays like NEVA (directed by João Reis) and ALMADA NADA (directed by Ricardo Pais), from Oporto’s National Theatre “Teatro Nacional São João”. Prior to directing, Luís attended the portuguese film school (ESTC) and, aftwards, has been in several directing courses, like “Directing the Comedy”, at the National Film and Television School, in London.
